It’s your retirement.

Make the most of it.

Think about this: only 5% of Americans—just 1 out of 20—will be able to retire at age 65.¹ Even more frightening is the fact that the average income for a woman over the age of 65 is less than $7,000 a year!² That’s why Red Portfolio can’t stress enough the importance of taking control of your future financial state today. Because we think your retirement should be everything you want it to be—and more.

Your Social Security.

Curious to know just what your actual Social Security check might look like? Take a look at your Personal Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement you receive each year. If you don’t receive yours call your Social Security office and ask them for a copy of your Personal Earnings and Benefit Estimate Statement. (You can also request it online at www.ssa.gov) The figure shown on it might be enough incentive to make sure you’re saving as much as you can.

Fast Fact! Social Security only makes up about a fifth of a person’s retirement income.³

More money in, more money out.

Today, retirement is lasting a lot longer than in the past. Which means you’ll need more money for it. Annuities help provide the additional financial resources you need—for as long as you need them. Adding annuities to your existing retirement portfolio means you’ll have a guaranteed source of income, even one you can’t outlive.

Remember that dream fund?

If you haven’t already been actively putting money into it, now’s the time. Who knows, maybe you’ll want to take a two-week cruise to Alaska or spend a month sightseeing in Europe. Or maybe you’ll want to make the most of your home—and your health—and install a pool in your backyard. The point is, retirement is your time. So now’s the time to keep adding money to your dream savings so you’ll be able to make the most of it.
